Geoffrey D. Kressin was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1947. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1970 with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Geof received his J.D. degree in 1972 from the University of Tennessee.

Prior to joining the firm, Geof practiced law in Knoxville, Tennessee, in the areas of product safety, professional, commercial, and intellectual property litigation. He was an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee from 1974 to 1988 where he taught Contracts, Specification and Law.

Geof's practice emphasizes patent, tradesecret, trademark and copyright litigation. He is a member of the State Bar of Tennessee, and is admitted to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and several United States District Courts. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Geoff is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, The American Bar Association, The Tennessee Bar Association, and the Knoxville Bar. Additionally, Geof is a Certified Mediator in the Federal Mediation Program.
