Robert O. Fox was born in Houston, Texas in 1962. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1984 with a B.E. degree in Chemical Engineering, after which he worked as a field engineering with Schlumberger, which work involved cased and open hole oil and gas wells.

He received his J.D. degree in 1989 from the University of Kentucky where he was the Technical Editor of the Journal of Mineral Law and Policy, and received an American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in Civil Procedure.

Bob entered patent practice with Jones, Askew & Lunsford in Atlanta in 1989 and relocated to Knoxville with this firm in 1991.

The principal emphasis of his practice is preparation and prosecution of trademark and patent applications, and patent and trademark searches, patentability opinions, and patent and trademark infringement analysis. Bob prepares and prosecutes patent applications in a variety of fields including medical devices, paper processing, oil, gas and water well technology, environmental remediation, mechanical devices, computer hardware and software, and inkjet printing technology. Bob also handles intellectual property litigation before the Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Courts. He is a member of the State Bars of Georgia and Tennessee and is registered to practice before the Patent and Trademark Office.

Bob enjoys sports of all types, played football in college, and enjoys hiking, hunting, and fishing. Bob also participates in triathlons, bike riding, and other endurance events.

Bob participates in various community activities and travels nationally as a speaker on topics relating to good control of diabetes.
